Fifth-graders at Roosevelt Elementary School recently had a unique opportunity to bring their creativity to life while helping shape a lasting piece of community art. Acclaimed Los Angeles artist Stephanie Mercado visited Roosevelt to collaborate with students, using their artwork as inspiration for a new, community-centered mural that will be featured next to the new Roosevelt Library.

Community Schools Host Successful Community Resource Event, the Grateful Gathering!
Lawndale, CA — Lawndale Elementary School District’s Community Schools proudly hosted its first Lawndale Grateful Gathering, a vibrant community resource fair that welcomed 269 families—nearly 800 attendees—for a morning filled with essential services, learning resources, and joyful holiday activities. The event brought together a wide network of partners, volunteers, and organizations, all committed to uplifting and supporting Lawndale district families.
